Data protection declaration app
When you use our app, your personal data (hereinafter referred to as "data") is processed. This data may include, for example, your name, address, email address, and other information about you. Processing, in this context, essentially means any handling of this data.
The following information concerns the processing of your data when using Yukatel GmbH, based on the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable federal and state data protection laws.
Purposes and legal bases of our data processing
- registration
You can use our app to register with us. The data you enter will then be stored on our servers and used to process your interactions. This data will not be shared with third parties unless necessary for the performance of the contract. The legal basis for processing this data is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
- Usage history
As part of our contract with you, we also process data to show you recent usage patterns and to suggest further uses, including services from partners. The legal basis for processing this data is also Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, as the processing is necessary for the performance of the contract between you and us.
- Email contact
At various points within the app, you can contact us via the provided email address. When you do so, the personal data you submit, particularly your email address, will be stored. This data will not be shared with third parties. The data will be used solely for processing your inquiry. This processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR if your inquiry relates to the performance of a contract or is necessary for taking steps prior to entering into a contract. In all other cases, processing is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) and/or our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), as we have a legitimate interest in the efficient handling of inquiries addressed to us.
Data is deleted once the purpose for its collection has ceased or the communication has ended. If the communication leads to a quotation process, the processed data will be deleted after the applicable retention periods have expired.
- Device information
As described, we collect information from and about the computer(s), phone(s), and other internet-connected device(s) you use that are integrated with our products. We then combine this information across the different devices you use. For example, we use information we've collected about your use of our products on your phone to better personalize content or features. The information we receive from these devices includes:
- Device attributes: Information such as the operating system, hardware and software versions, battery level, signal strength, available storage space, browser type, app and file names and types, and plugins.
- Data from device settings: Information that you allow us to receive through the device settings you have activated, such as access to your GPS location, camera, or photos.
- Network and connections: Information such as the name of your mobile or internet service provider, language, time zone, mobile phone number, IP address or connection speed, and in some cases information about other devices nearby or on your network.
The legal basis for processing the data is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, the performance of the contract with you, and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest in processing the data lies in optimizing our products for the specific user. However, the user's consent to the individual features is the basis for processing activities. If the user does not consent to the aforementioned functions, they cannot use them in the app.
- Location-related information
We use location-based information . The app then displays the position data sent by the tracking devices. This data includes:
- Current live location
- Routes traveled are kept for 12 months.
- Standby times
- Duration of the journey
- average speed
- Speed evaluation
Additionally, users can create so-called "geofences/virtual fences" within the app. If an object enters or leaves this area, a notification is sent within the app and via push notification (if enabled). Users must consent to this function beforehand; the legal basis for this is Article 6 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 a) GDPR. If consent to this function is not given, the user cannot use the app.
- Camera and microphone
The app requires access to the microphone and camera. This is necessary for the easy capture of the device serial number and IMEI number via QR code. The camera and microphone will not be used for any other purpose. The user must consent to this function beforehand; the legal basis for this is Article 6 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 a) GDPR. If consent is not given for this function, the user cannot use it.
- Data transmission via tracking units
The tracking units themselves transmit the following data to us, regardless of whether this data is evaluated or not:
- Longitude and latitude
- Current time according to GPS
- GPS/GNSS Status
- speed
- Direction
- Movement status
- Unit - Internal Battery Charge Level
- Unit - Internal Battery Voltage
- Vehicle battery voltage
- Vehicle speed
- SIM card ID
- IP address of the device
- Ignition status
The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 b) GDPR, the proper performance of the contract with you.
- IT security
Finally, we also process data in your and our interest to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of the data processing systems, i.e., in particular, the security and availability of your data at Yukatel GmbH . Using our app without processing data for this purpose is not possible. The legal basis for processing this data is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in maintaining and securely providing our services.
Data sharing beyond the borders of the EU
The data we collect is stored exclusively on servers within the European Union. Data will not be transferred to companies outside the European Union without your explicit consent. This also applies to service providers we commission to process data.
Data recipient
Based on our contract with you or your consent, we will only transmit or receive your data via a secure connection to the recipients you have selected.
To offer you all the features of Yukatel GmbH , we also use selected service providers who process data on our behalf and in our name. We only share data with carefully selected and contractually obligated service providers within the framework of legally permissible data processing agreements. These providers only receive the data necessary to fulfill their assigned tasks.
This includes the following categories of contractors: software developers, server hosts, newsletter senders, customer support, web analytics services.
Duration of data storage
We store your data for the duration of your account with Yukatel GmbH . However, you can close or block your account at any time. We will then delete your data unless we are legally obligated to retain it for a longer period. If the data is still required for processing outstanding transactions, it will be deleted no earlier than after these transactions have been completed.
Use of cookies
This app uses cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device via your browser and allow the app to recognize you on subsequent visits. This is done using a cookie ID, a unique number that many cookies use.
The use of cookies enables a more user-friendly experience with our app. However, if you do not agree to the use of cookies or have disabled them in your browser, the app's functionality may be limited.

Data processing through implemented plug-ins
- Google Analytics for
We use the Google Firebase developer platform and its associated features and services provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). Google Firebase is a platform for developers of mobile apps and websites. Google Firebase offers a wide range of features, which are presented on the following overview page: https://firebase.google.com/products/ .
The functions include, among other things, the storage of users' personal data, such as content they create or information about their interaction on the website. Google Firebase also provides interfaces that allow interaction between website users and other services. User interactions are analyzed using the Firebase Analytics service. This service helps us record user interactions.
The information processed via Google Firebase may be used in conjunction with other Google services, such as Google Analytics and Google marketing services. Google Firebase uses servers located in the EU for these services whenever possible. However, it cannot be ruled out that data may also be transferred to the USA. Google has joined the EU-US Privacy Shield, a data protection agreement between the EU and the USA. - Google Maps (for Android devices)
Our app for Android devices uses Google Maps (API) from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”). Google Maps is a web service for displaying interactive maps to visually represent geographical information. Using this service allows us to show you our location and makes it easier for you to find directions.
When you access pages on our website that include a Google Maps map, information about your use of our website (such as your IP address) is transmitted to and stored on Google servers. This may also involve transmission to the servers of Google LLC in the USA. This occurs regardless of whether you have a Google account and are logged in. If you are logged into Google, your data will be directly associated with your account. If you do not want this association with your Google profile, you must log out before activating the button. Google stores your data (even for users who are not logged in) as usage profiles and analyzes them. The collection, storage, and analysis of this data are carried out in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 f) GDPR based on Google's legitimate interest in designing our app to meet user needs. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, and you must contact Google to exercise this right.
If you do not agree to the future transfer of your data to Google in connection with the use of Google Maps, you also have the option of completely deactivating the Google Maps web service. Google Maps, and therefore the map display on this website, will then be unavailable.

Our app uses Apple Maps for iOS devices. If Google Maps is not installed on your iOS device, our app embeds the Apple Maps service from Apple Inc., 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California, USA 95014, on iOS devices. The collection, storage, and analysis of this data are carried out in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 f) GDPR based on Google's legitimate interest in designing our app to meet user needs.

Data security
All data stored by us or any data processors is protected against unauthorized access, loss, and alteration using current security standards. Extensive technical and organizational security measures are implemented to this end, meeting at least the legal requirements.
Your rights and complaint options
You have the following rights with regard to your data:
- Right to information: You have the right to obtain information from the data controller about your stored personal data. You can assert this right at any time and free of charge.
- Right to rectification or erasure: You have the right to request the controller to rectify or complete your personal data without undue delay. Furthermore, you may have the right to request the controller to erase your personal data.
- Right to restriction of processing: You may have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data by the controller.
